“I am just agreeing with the caller from Williamsport, that you need to put ‘Mary Worth’ and ‘Rex Morgan, M.D.’ comics back in the paper. They were in the middle of a story line, and now we have no idea how these story lines ended or whatever.”

“I’m responding ... regarding your article on Jan. 9 on A11 about completion rates at HCC. First I scanned it, then I perused it, and then I read it. There’s no number. What is the completion rate at HCC for programs, or how many do go on to successfully complete four-year educations or five-year educations? We sort of need that number, to know what this article is about. Also, how about how many go to HCC and take ... 70 percent. We need some more depth reporting so we can better address the situation. An article on completion, and no data? Shame on you.”

“I’m calling in reference to the Clear Spring Mail Call about the newspapers. I would like the newspaper to stay the same as it is. I’ve lived here in Hagerstown for 50 years, and I enjoy getting The Herald-Mail, and I don’t know for any reason why’d they’d want the comics and the sports taken out of the newspaper. I appreciate The Herald-Mail very much, and I wish they would just continue it the way it is.”

“I just want to say how really disappointed I am at your decision to take ‘Mary Worth’ and ‘Rex Morgan’ from your newspaper. They are two of my favorites, and I would love to see them reinstated, as would others that I have talked to. And yes, I did send a survey in about the comics. Please reconsider your decision.”

“This is in regards to the comics being eliminated. I know you can’t please everybody, and I know someone’s going to be upset, but the ones you eliminated were on a separate page from the other two pages of comics, so a lot of people, especially a lot of the older people, read them, and they weren’t aware that because they were on that, that they were included. They just thought you wanted to know which ones on the two pages.”

“This is for our illustrious county commissioners, city government, and state officials. I live in Hagerstown, Washington County, all my life. We have an airport we dumped a lot of money in, we have a crop duster, and we have a $400,000 baggage thing that’s supposed to be coming. How about all the jobs that we’ve lost in Washington County? Compare that to Franklin County, and over in West Virginia, and how many jobs they got. Look at CSX and Norfolk Southern, Macy’s and Target and all.”

“I once again see that Del. Neil Parrott has decided that whenever he doesn’t get his way, or his party doesn’t get his way, he decides he’s going to petition to have a law or ruling changed. Well, I’m about done with the way he tries to run the government. So I would like to start a petition to have him removed from office. I wonder how I could do that. Maybe I have to go through the website that he actually bought.”

“To the Smithsburg caller, regarding electing a Democratic Congress: The Republican-controlled House has passed at least 17 bills and sent them to the Senate, but the RINO kid, Harry Reid, has refused to bring any of them up for a vote. Get your facts straight, and quit drinking so much of the liberal Kool-Aid.”

“Not too long ago, they were trying to combine Conococheague and Maugansville school. Now that they built the school, Conococheague is still left without a school that they’re going to be closing, and now they want to put Winter Street and Conococheague together. What a bad idea that would be for Conococheague.”
