Martin’s Food Store on Wesel Boulevard in Halfway will present the top five earning Washington County schools with cash rewards checks on Friday. The checks represent money received through the A+ Rewards program offered by Martin’s. This year, 15 checks will be handed out for a total of $41,246.95. The check presentation ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m.
Spirit night to benefit children’s center
The Christian Child Development Center of Concordia Lutheran Church will sponsor spirit night at the Chick-fil-A restaurant on Wesel Boulevard on Thursday, May 26, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The center, off Downsville Pike, is a preschool for 3-and 4-year olds.

Star Equestrian event is Saturday
On Saturday, Star Equestrian will host a change awareness carnival and yard sale. It will include carnival games, fill a bag (to be purchased that day), yard sale, petting zoo and raffles.
The MdCHIP program, a child identification program, will be conducted during the event.
Star Equestrian is at 13674 Greencastle Pike in Hagerstown.
Volunteers are needed for the event.
Proceeds will benefit children and adults with disabilities who attend the Star facility.

Deaf Awareness Day planned at Valley Mall
Deafnet will present Deaf Awareness Day Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Valley Mall. The event will include vendors and classes.

Railroad Heritage Days
Railroad Heritage Days will be held this weekend at Hagerstown City Park. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m on Sunday.
Special events are planned, such as a trolley between museums, Thomas the Tank trackless train ride, historic railroad, military, fire equipment and trains for children to run.
