Ravens Nest 12 donates to Children In Need

Children In Need Inc. was the latest recipient of a Tri-State Ravens Nest 12 charitable donation.

Mike Vaughn and Mike Mills, on behalf of the Ravens Nest, presented a check for $250 to Ann Martin, director.


Children In Need provides assistance to Washington County schoolchildren with school supplies and clothing. The Ravens Nest also has an ongoing drive to collect gently used children’s clothing for Children In Need.

Losses totaled 26.5 pounds at the most recent TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0077 meeting.

The best TOPS loser was Chuck H. with five pounds and the Best KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) losers were Maida L., Kathy F. and Dottie Z.

Bonnie H. gave a demonstration on triangle folding of the American flag and explained the symbolism of each fold.

Area Captain Paralee M. will visit the chapter and present the program at the next meeting.

The chapter meets Mondays at 9:30 a.m. at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave. Weigh-in is at 7:15 a.m.

NHHS Class of 1966

The North Hagerstown High School Class of 1966 will hold its 45th reunion on Oct. 1 at the Elks Lodge on Robinwood Drive in Hagerstown.

Chapter members participated in a general discussion generated by a series of questions and quotes distributed by Mary.

Joann Ph. was the thinner winner with a loss of 3.6 pounds. Jean C., who lost 2.8 pounds, was runner-up. At the next meeting, Cynthia will conduct the monthly awards presentation.

Meetings are held Wednesdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 19731 Shiloh Church Road, Hagerstown. Weigh-in from 8:45 to 9:20 a.m.
