Ruritan pancake breakfast planned
The Maugansville Ruritan Club will host its first pancake breakfast of the new year Saturday, Jan. 26, from 6:30 to 11 a.m. at its blue building at 18007 Maugans Ave.
The all-you-can-eat breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, juice, coffee and tea. The breakfast costs $5.50 for adults, $3 for those ages 6 to 12, and are free for ages 5 and younger. There is plenty of free parking and the lines move quickly.
Veterans roundtable to be held Feb. 6
The Potomac Highland World War II Veterans Roundtable will meet Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. at Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, 405 Northern Ave. in Hagerstown
The guest speaker will be Joe Stall, who will share a combat pilot escape map.
The monthly meetings are open to the public as well as all WW II veterans and their family members.
There is no cost to attend.

Line dancing planned Jan. 26
The Country Western Dance Association will hold a belly laugh dance Saturday, Jan. 26, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the former Quincy School gym, 7888 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro, Pa.
The event will include line dancing for singles and couples. The event is open to the public. Admission costs $5 per person.
The belly laugh dance is a way for people to connect, create and celebrate laughter.
The day was founded by Elaine Helle in June 2005. Global Belly Laugh Day, Jan. 24, was born.
Participants can come to the dance in mismatched clothes. Door prizes will be awarded for those who think they can tell the funniest joke.
