The donation will be used to help abused children in Washington County.
The mission of Safe Place is to reduce the trauma to children in a child-friendly environment though collaborative investigations, therapeutic/medical interventions and criminal prosecution of child-abuse cases.
Nina Garrett and Gary Carter presented the gift to Mooch Mutchler, director, and center Supervisor Tammy Puffenberger.

HCC future teachers donate time and books
Members of the Future Educators of America at Hagerstown Community College visited Salem Avenue Elementary School Dec. 21.
The students helped the Salem staff read with students, enjoyed a snack of cookies and milk, and listened to a book being read aloud.
Each Salem Avenue student received a book, which was donated by the group from its book drive earlier this year.
