The Southeastern senior site, on Mount Vernon Drive in Keedysville, will hold an open house week of activities the week of June 13 to 17.
Marcia Davies will conduct gentle exercises Monday, followed by guest speaker Chief Jeff Hewitt of the Boonsboro Police Department. Bonnie's at the Red Byrd will provide a fried chicken lunch.
Ed Plank, director of the Washington County Highway Department, will be the guest speaker Wednesday, followed by lunch from Vestas Pizza in Boonsboro.
Helen Stevens will discuss "Caring for Houseplants" on Friday. Bob Murphy from Sunny Meadows will give demonstrations on container gardening. Lunch Friday will be a hotdog cookout with orange dreamsicle cupcakes (The Herald-Mail cupcake recipe winner). Lunches during the week are free.

St. Mark's to sponsor Heritage Ride Aug. 20
St. Mark's Episcopal Church will sponsor "the Heritage Ride" for motorcycles and cars, Saturday, Aug. 20, rain or shine.
The ride begins in Hancock. Registration for the ride is from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. in the parking lot of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church. The ride ends at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 18313 Lappans Road. Lunch, raffles, door prizes, and tours of the church and cemetery are offered from 12:30 to 2 p.m. All proceeds from this event will support the building fund for the St. Mark's Fellowship Center, which is under construction.

Samples Manor to hold hymn sing
Samples Manor Church of God at 2128 Harpers Ferry Road near the community of Dargan will hold the "Jean Hanes" Annual Hymn Sing Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the church.

Church to hold Vacation Bible School
Sharpsburg Bible Church in Sharpsburg on the corner of Potomac and Antietam streets will hold a Vacation Bible School for ages 3 to adult from June 20 to 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. each evening.
Church members and visitors are invited to take a bite of the "Big Apple Adventure: Where faith and life connect."

Fire company to hold steak feed
Potomac Valley Fire Co. in the community of Dargan will hold a steak feed Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the fire hall. Tickets cost $15 per person. Children's Zumba begins at St. Mark's
ZumbAtomic, a Zumba class for children ages 5 to 8, begins Monday, June 27, at 4 p.m. in the St. Mark's Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 18313 Lappans Road. Licensed instructor Jonnetta Gelwicks will teach six classes (June 27, July 18 and 25, Aug. 1, 8 and 15). The class costs $25. Ruritan to hold Strawberry Festival
The Rohrersville Ruritan will hold a strawberry festival this weekend at the Ruritan Community Park. Strawberry pies, shortcakes and ice cream will be available for sale, along with country ham and other festival-style foods. Craft vendors and yard sale vendors will sell their wares. Poultry Swap to be held in Sharpsburg
The Maryland Poultry Swap and Farmers Market will Saturday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Green Hill Farm, 5329 Mondell Road in Sharpsburg.
The sales area will have laying hens, baby chicks, turkeys, peacocks, exotic birds, geese, ducks, rabbits, goats as well as flowers, horse tack, local honey, used equipment and tools.
Food and beverage vendors will be onsite as well as activities for the family such as a straw maze, inflatable bounce and pony rides. Admission and parking are free and everyone is welcome to come and participate as a vendor.
