Travelogue series

The Kiwanis Club of Hagerstown will conclude its 37th season of the travelogue series with “Discovering the Dutch” Wednesday, April 18. 

The program, at South Hagerstown High School, begins at 7:30 p.m.

The presenter will be Sandy Mortimer, who will talk about the gabled homes, several lowland provinces and the city of Amsterdam.

Single-admission tickets are sold at the door. Tickets cost $10 for  adults and $5 for students. 

Proceeds help the club support charities in Washington County.

Softball league forming

The Washington County Senior Softball League will begin practice Monday, April 2, at 6 p.m. for its senior co-ed softball league.

Registration forms are available at Hagerstown City Park softball fields. 

Registration costs $30.

Practices are Monday through Thursday during April, and the league expects to begin playing two games a week in May.

The league is adding a new team, since it had to turn players away last year.

All teams are formed through a draft system by age groups and the practice allows team managers to evaluate players.

Men (50 and older) and women (40 and older) are welcome to try out.

Valley Art Association

Valley Art Association will hold its regular meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Mansion House Art Center in Hagerstown City Park.

After the business meeting and refreshments, artist Michael Timothy Davis will give a  demonstration of his oil paintings.

The public is invited.

The Mansion House is at 501 Highland Way in Hagerstown.
