Food drive under way at elementary school
Maugansville Elementary is one of the county schools collecting clothing for Children In Need. This is the first of a series of collections to aid families in need. Items may be dropped off at the school on Maugans Avenue between 7:45 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. Donated used coats, hats, gloves and clothing items are appreciated.
Line dancing at Ruritan
The Country Western Dance Association will have line dancing from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Muagansville Ruritan, 18007 Maugans Ave. Both couples and singles are invited. The cost is $7 for nonmenbers and $5 for members.
Pancake breakfast is Oct. 27 in Maugansville
The Maugansville Ruritan Club will host a pancake breakfast from 6:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Ruritan building on Maugans Avenue. The all-you-can-eat breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, coffee, juice and tea. The cost is $5.50 for adults; $3 for ages 6 to 12; free for ages 5 and younger. Proceeds support the projects the Ruritans sponsor.
Fall fest planned at Women’s Club
The Women’s Club, 31 S. Prospect St., Hagerstown, invites the public to the annual Fall Fest from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. Garden items, scarves, dolls, crafts and 10 vendors including Silpada Jewelers, Willow House, Cookie Lee Jewelry and others will be availabe for your early Christmas Shopping.
A table of homemade food items will be sold, including soups (chicken corn, beef vegetable, ham and bean), apple dumplings and country ham sandwiches. For special orders, call the Women’s Club at 301-739-0870. Apple dumplings and country ham sandwiches cost $3 and quarts of ham and bean, chicken corn or beef vegetable soups cost $5.50, pints cost $3.
Card party set for Oct. 31 in Hagerstown
The Women’s Club invites you to a Halloween card party and luncheon at noon Wednesday, Oct. 31.
Attendees may play any card or board game and enjoy lunch at the club. Reservations can be made by calling 301-739-0870 by Monday, Oct. 29. The cost is $12.
