Winter Street students plan Veterans Day concert
The Winter Street Elementary fourth-graders will perform their annual Veterans Day concert to honor our local military veterans Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Veterans from all branches of the military are invited to attend. The students would love the opportunity to show their appreciation of your service to our country.

'Reading to Make Cents'
Fliers for the “Reading to Make Cents” contest to raise money for Books for Babies will be coming home with Washington County Public Schools students. This is the 11th anniversary of the “Reading to Make Cents” contest, which will be held the week of Nov. 11 to 18. The money will be used to buy books that will be included in a book packet presented to each newborn at Meritus Medical Center.

Garden club plans Nov. 11 event
The Crossroads Garden Club, which is part of the Women’s Club, invites you to its annual fundraiser, the Greens Show and Afterglow, at the club at 31 S. Prospect St. in Hagerstown on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m.
The presenter will be David Shover, who is a floral designer. He travels the country presenting floral design shows and workshops. Some of Shover’s floral creations will be given as door prizes. There will also be raffles of gift baskets and refreshments, which are included in the $12. ticket price.
