  14. Driving tour through Washington County history

    Nearly every community in Washington County has monuments and memorials honoring its war veterans. Some are well-known. Some are rarely noticed. All are worthy of visiting. In addition, the county contains many war-related structures and monuments. This tour includes some of those. Mainly, the tour features distinctive or less-well-known monuments. The tour is about 80 miles long. It takes about two and a half hours to drive. Add another hour or two to get out and walk around or to take a break.
