Katherine Short
Naperville Central
Soccer, cross-country
ACT: 30.
Athletics: Tribune All-State special mention in soccer; Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association All-State; four-year varsity cross-country runner.
Academics: National Honor Society; GPA above 4.0 for all eight semesters; academic all-conference in cross-country and soccer.
College: Saint Louis. I loved being in a city but still having a defined campus within the city. Also, their medical program is phenomenal.
Major: Biology/pre-med.
Dream job: Being a pediatric oncologist in a children's hospital somewhere in Colorado.
Role model: My mom. Not only does she have a full-time job, but she still manages to take care of the family and be there for me whenever I need her.
I'd like to have dinner with: Morgan Freeman. He seems like an interesting guy, and his voice is really cool.
If I could trade places with one person for a day, it would be: Oprah Winfrey. I think it'd be so fun to have my own talk show
Bucket list: Go to Africa, go skydiving, run a marathon.
Favorite movie: "Anchorman."
Favorite TV show: "Friends" or "How I Met Your Mother."
Last book you read for fun: "Safe Haven" by Nicholas Sparks.
On my iPod: A ton of country music.
Pet: I have a dog, Murphy. She is a goldendoodle (half golden retriever, half poodle).
Favorite sporting event: Naperville Central's home football games.
Cubs or Sox: Sox.
Hobbies: Water skiing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, rollerblading/bike riding with friends.
Most people don't know I: hate it when people steal my food.
Best high school sports memory: Ending Naperville North's undefeated streak in the Naperville Invite this year.
One word to describe your high school experience: Epic.
