LINCOLN HEIGHTS (KTLA) -- An engineer was hospitalized after the train he was driving derailed early Saturday morning.
The train crash was reported around 1:45 a.m. at a Union Pacific railroad yard in the 700 block of Lamar Street.
Three freight cars on the 53-car train came off the rails after the train collided with some parked rail cars.
According to Los Angeles Fire spokesman Brian Humprey, no evacuations were ordered and no leaks or other hazards were reported.
The engineer was taken to a local hospital with neck pain.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
