SANTA MONICA, Calif. (KTLA) -- Police are on the hunt for two suspects in a Tuesday evening shooting that wounded a 16-year-old boy.
Santa Monica police dispatchers received reports of the shooting about 3:25 p.m. near the intersection of Pico Boulevard and 4th Street. Police say the teen was shot several times in the chest before the suspects fled in a black SUV.
The boy, a student at Santa Monica High School, was seriously wounded and underwent surgery after he was rushed to a nearby hospital. He is now listed in stable condition.
The suspects were described as two Latino men in their early 20s. The SUV they drove could be a Honda or KIA with a roof rack and bumper sticker above the license plate.
