JUNEAU, Alaska—
The Alaska House of Representatives made a formal show of support Wednesday for Rep. Sharon Cissna (D-Anchorage), who chose to take a ferry back to Juneau after refusing a TSA pat-down at the Seattle-Tacoma airport earlier this week.
Rep. Chris Tuck (D-Anchorage) sponsored the “Sense of the House” measure, which passed 36-2.
"Efficient travel is a cornerstone of our economy and our quality of life especially here in Alaska," said Tuck. "No one should have to sacrifice their dignity in order to travel."
Rep. Bob Lynn (R-Anchorage) and Rep. Dan Saddler (R-Eagle River) voted against the measure.
Cissna is expected to arrive in the state capital Thursday morning onboard the M/V Matanuska ferry.
