Marshall tried the historic case of Brown vs. Board of Education which made segregation in public schools illegal. His landmark decision later led to his selection as a Supreme Court Judge.

Actor Laurence Fishburne will play Marshall in front of a live audience at the Kennedy Center’s Eisenhower Theater in Washington, D.C. Wednesday.

When asked about the invitation Johnson said, “It’s truly an honor to join the President and Vice President for these events”.

The one-man play will officially debut on HBO later this month.

Mayor Johnson also attended a special dinner Tuesday night with Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill.
