SACRAMENTO—Would you pay $7 for a bottle of soda? Local business owners say plenty of people are - all because of one little ingredient.. pot!
Canna Care patient Georgia has been drinking the cola for a few months now, and says already, she's noticed improvements in her health. "This is stuff is great, I get results much fast than eating a brownie or smoking," she said. "I have a bad back."
Sacramento's Canna Care started selling this liquid marijuana in August. It comes in a bunch of different flavors. Donald Davies with Canna Care: "It's amazing how this stuff is becoming a top choice for our clients."
Customers are taking notice, and so are business owners, like Clay Butler from Santa Cruz. "I started making this stuff to give people other options," he said.
The ingredients are the same you would find in a regular soda, except it contains pot. Some people are concerned that this bottled beverage can be consumed anywhere, and that makes it easier for patients to get high in inappropriate places, like behind the wheel.
"We give rules to every person we sell a bottle to," says Davies. "but we can't monitor everyone's actions when they leave, so we leave it up to the patients to make the right decision."
If you want this Canna Cola you must have a doctor's note. But even though this cola is the taste some patients want, not every patient will swallow the idea, including patient Jerry. "I'll stick to smoking, it's just what I'm used to," he said.
Canna cCre does sell other forms of medical marijuana. In their shop you'll find different flavors of marijuana cake, ice cream, coffe, and even beer.
