With the absence of Fab Melo for Syracuse, the middle is open forK-State to attack the Orange and they plan on it.
The Wildcats will take on Syracuse in the round of 32 at the NCAA Tournament, Saturday at 11:15 CST. The game can be seen on KWCH-12 in high definition.
Frank Martin said he understood why everyone was making a big deal about the loss of Melo but he reiterated that Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim has won a ton of games and Melo has only been a part of 30.
K-State will have serious size advantage in the lane and plan on exposing Syracuse down low. BUt the Orange have two great players in Kris Joseph and Scoop Jardine who will lead the Orange attack. Rodney McGruder will have to play another big game and this time, he certainly can not do it alone. He needs help. Jamar Samuels didn't take a shot against Southern Miss on Thursday. That can't happen on Saturday.
A win and the Wildcats are off to Boston in the Sweet 16. For a team that was swept by Oklahoma and Iowa State, that would be amazing and the Cats plans on capitalizing on their strength on defense and old fashioned toughness.
