The new store, Love and Whiskey, features men’s and women’s fashion from a mix of local, domestically produced or cause-driven brands. Offerings include labels such as Tank Farm, Michael Lauren, Gentle Fawn, VSTR and Krochet Kids, as well as exclusive pieces from 31 Bits jewelry, Will’s Leather Goods and Peg and Awl and hard-to-find styles from Toms Shoes.
The store also includes a music lounge provided in partnership with Alex Forsythe, who founded the Analog music and art boutique in the OC Mart Mix -- where shoppers can listen to music and buy vintage and new record players, speakers and vinyl records.
The owners also plan to host whiskey tastings, trunk shows and other special events at the shop at 2967 Michaelson Dr. in Irvine. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Equipment, known for its modern silhouettes and luxe fabrics, opened its first free-standing West Coast boutique on Tuesday at 8459 Melrose Place in Los Angeles. The shop carries Equipment’s silk and cashmere collections for men and women. A selection of the brand’s original Paris archives will be showcased in a seasonal rotation. The boutique is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The sale is open to members only, but it’s easy to sign up on the Gilt City website. Membership is free, but tickets to the sale, also available online, range from $5 to $25, depending on when you choose to go. The earlier the admission, the more expensive the ticket. Shopping -- and the first crack at the bargains -- is scheduled Friday evening from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. On Saturday, shopping is scheduled in five two-hour blocks beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 7 p.m. The sale will be at Siren Studios at 6063 W.
