3. Summer Eating List

Summer is the sweet season for restaurants. Fresh produce is abundant, daylight lasts longer and restaurants are busier and bigger (with the addition of outdoor seats) than at any other time of the year.

  9. Grilled Greek Chicken Salad recipe only a guide for good choices

Salad recipes that have fussy lists of ingredients generally irritate me. I don’t doubt that they are delicious, nor that assembling them just so with just the right blend of flavors and textures makes for a transformative salad experience. It’s simply that my life doesn’t allow for such fuss. To me, the very nature of a salad should be that it brings together whatever is fresh and delicious and marries it all with some oil and acid. Particulars beyond that don’t much matter.

  15. A fresh look at chopped salad

Is anybody else excited by the lettuce options out there these days? My local supermarket offers bagged and boxed salads in more than a dozen combinations. However, it's the clamshell boxes of miniature heads of artisanal lettuces (often with their roots still attached) that really thrill my inner rabbit.

  23. Easy dinner recipes: Eggs every which way

Eggs for dinner? Yes. They're not just for breakfast -- eggs work well in so many dishes, and they're so easy to prepare. (And no, you don't have to love "Pink Flamingos" or Edith Massey - the egg-loving mother in the John Waters film - to enjoy them any time of day.) Let us offer some suggestions.
