  11. A Closer Look at the Baby Food Diet

Just like fashion trends, diets go in and out of style.
    McClatchy Tribune Newspapers
Just like fashion trends, diets go in and out of style. Remember the grapefruit diet? The cabbage soup diet? How about the Atkins diet, which banned white bread but allowed fatty cheese and pork rinds? That was so 2004. In 2010, dieters are going gaga...

  15. Mix-and-match meal

Should you find yourself stranded in a cabin, on a mountain, in the snow, with no distraction save one overwrought puzzle, you will be seized by a desire to cook. Knocking around in the kitchen gives you something to do. And, conveniently, something to eat.

  17. Angling for Fish

The young teens get a kick out of the fishermen in our family. They spend hours, even days, at the sport. Some of the guys enjoy guided fly-fishing in remote areas of the country. They wear elaborate get-ups to guard against cold rivers. Photographs prove the only evidence of their endeavors: The captured trout are quickly released back into the pristine waters. Other family members leisurely fish in local lakes, but never catch much, except the occasional log. Rarely do these anglers bring home dinner.
