Birth
A daughter, Lena Christine Baker, was born to Tim and Jessica Baker of Boyne City on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Charlevoix Area Hospital. Lena weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces at birth. She has a brother, Luke Baker. Grandparents are Park and Yvonne Hueber of Boyne City, and Tim and Carolyn Baker. Great-grandparents are Ida Zell of Boyne City, and Arlene Barber of East Jordan.

The Northern Michigan Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America will meet at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, in the Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Indian River, located on M-68. The project will be stitching Bookmarks for Literacy for the local library for the kids at their reading program in March. Remember to bring any finished guild project for "golden needle." Also we have an incentive program. Complete any stitched project and bring it for "Show and Tell" and you will be entered in a drawing. Refreshments will be served.
