Joann E. Hampton, 91, lifelong resident of Macedonia, Ohio, married March 9, 1944, to Paul D. Hampton for 61 1/2 years until his passing in 2005.
Joann spent many years researching family histories for both her family and her husband's family.
She had a love for all animals both wild and domestic.
Joann spent enjoyable vacations for 40 years with her husband at a Northern Michigan cottage.
She is survived by loving cousins and dear friends of long standing, as well as sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and their families.
Joann died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7966 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087; or a charity of choice.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 31, at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, 99 W. Aurora Road, (route 82, 1 mile west of route 8), Northfield Center, Ohio; (330) 468-1443, where services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1.
