  1. I did know Jack

    Change of Subject
Liz Lemon: "Why are you wearing a tux?" Jack Donaghy: "It's after 6. What am I, a farmer?" After tonight's finale, I'll miss Alec Baldwin's character on "30 Rock" most of all. Some other fine lines of his culled from......

  3. Updates: Kate Upton, Dick Cheney, Dr. Phil, Jodi Arias

The TV Guy - Orlando Sentinel
You can learn so much by watching morning television. Consider the Tuesday news: ***Kate Upton, the model from Melbourne, talked to NBC's “Today” about shooting the cover for Sports Illustrated's swimsuit cover in Antarctica. “It was...

  5. Obama's unpardonable neglect of clemency

One of the under-reported promises made by Congressman Ehrlich in the gubernatorial campaign of 2002 was to re-energize the pardon power in Maryland. My advisers thought it a bit loony to make the pledge, since the race promised to be close and there...

  7. Treading water and waiting for a life raft

Sept. 9 Four years ago, the ship of state managed by Republican Shipping Lines Inc. was driven onto an iceberg partially formed by attempting to finance two wars with tax breaks. Most of us were going down for the third time. First mate Dick...

  9. Is Tom Cruise big enough to carry 'Jack Reacher'?

The opening minutes of the action-thriller "Jack Reacher" unfold with a display of gun violence that will be strikingly familiar to anyone who has been horrified by headline news in recent weeks. A sniper is shown assembling his long-range assault rifle....

  11. Chan Lowe: Women in combat

I am an American male who has never served in the military, which makes me at least as qualified to opine on the subject of women in combat as most of the politicians who are bloviating about it. The nearest I came to combat was when I had the misfortune of being a member of the first college class from which President Nixon yanked the student deferment. The fact that I had nowhere to hide from the draft makes me even more of a patriot and hero, I think, than former Vice President Dick Cheney and some of his chicken-hawk neocon associates who are slightly older than I.

  13. Chuck Hagel 'issues' raised by Toomey, Casey may stem from jingoistic attitudes

  15. Wikipedia, the people's encyclopedia

Wikipedia is the encyclopedia anyone can write and edit (yes, even you!), but most people don't think much about who performs those tasks. With half a billion people around the world relying on Wikipedia for information, we should.

  17. Smear a bagel, not Chuck Hagel

OK, I want to admit right up front: I stole that headline. No, it's not original with me. I stole it from the pro-Israel, pro-peace organization J Street. I stole it because it's funny. And because it perfectly sums up the phony, trumped-up campaign against Chuck Hagel for secretary of defense.

  21. Foul-Mouthed Speaker Lowers Civility Bar

  23. Skeptics notwithstanding, Clinton will accept responsibility for ambassador's death

It was disappointing to read Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s column criticizing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for not appearing before Congress to testify about the death of our ambassador to Libya ("For Republicans, a not so happy New Year," Jan. 6)....
