  11. Possible Animal Cruelty Investigation in York County

Police in York County are investigating a possible case of animal cruelty in which a feral cat was splashed with a corrosive substance.
A homeowner living along East High Street in New Freedom Borough found the feral cat they had been feeding on their back porch with its eyes, nose and tongue injured on Tuesday. Becoming concerned for the animals well-being they contacted Animal Rescue Inc.. The injured cat was checked out and experts at the facility were not able to determine whether the cat came into the corrosive substance through eating/drinking something, or if it was intentionally given to the cat, according to police reports.
The cat is currently receiving supportive care at the animal shelter.
Investigators searched the premises nearby but were unable to find a substance that may have injured the cat.
