The legal ruckus in Florida District 18 is exactly what one would expect of Allen West. The Colonel is not about to accept the official certification of three politically suspect county supervisors of elections, particularly in a district to which he moved in order to have a better chance of winning.
Surely, his would-be constituents in this two-bit backwater of a district have the sense to comprehend what a national treasure he is. This leaves only one possible alternative: somebody screwed up on the vote count. A man like Allen West is larger than just one district. America’s future as a great nation depends on his remaining in Congress—uncloaking communists, skirmishing with subversives of all stripes, and keeping that harridan Debbie Wasserman Schultz in her place.
Moreover, what if some anarchist entered the House spectators’ gallery carrying a piece, and threatened the tea party caucus in mid-obstruction? West, who has made no secret that he packs heat, would be able to dispatch him forthwith. The same implement would also be useful in stiffening the spine of that lily-livered excuse for a Speaker, John Boehner.
Allen West out-spent his opponent four-to-one. If District 18 still decided to reject him in spite of all the lucre he lavished on it, it would mean that the country has acknowledged that it has lost its way, and is no longer worthy of his stewardship.
Colonel West is not about to let America go down the drain by depriving itself of the privilege of being led by him. Therefore, he is prepared to go to the mat to override the will of the people and reverse the outcome of this election, no matter what it takes.
Why? Because American democracy is at stake. Just ask him.
