    After being gone for a few months it was a shock seeing the gigantic wind machines for the first time after driving down Mountain Springs Grade. Although I knew they were to be installed, I must have pushed the event to the back of my mind. The desert landscape is no longer the same. I know there are always changes after a person is away from home for awhile, but usually the changes are minor, such as a neighbor&rsquo;s home freshly painted, or landscaping replaced, or a new car turning up in someone&rsquo;s yard.
