     Myrtle Wagner, 90, of Doland, S.D., passed away on June 16, 2013, at the Redfield Community Memorial Hospital. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the Doland United Methodist Church with Pastor Shirley Scotter officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will take place at Walton City Cemetery in Walton, Kan., on Friday, June 21, 2013, at 10:30 a.m.

    In the midst of our cookouts, or day at the lake, or whatever you do on this day off, let&rsquo;s not forget its purpose.&nbsp; Memorial Day is to honor the men and women who&rsquo;ve died in the service of their country.&nbsp; We owe them all a debt of gratitude and whether it&rsquo;s just as simple as reminding your kids what the day is about, or going to ceremonies to commemorate it.&nbsp; I hope all of us will take a moment to reflect on their sacrifices.
