I've got another interesting and possibly worthless study for you (I should just make this a daily afternoon feature). The Wall Street Journal examined every offseason move and ranked each MLB team based on "the volume of moves it made and the net quality of the players it ended up with."

  5. Albert Pujols in an Orioles jersey: There's no way, right?

There is plenty of optimism in Baltimore right now with the Orioles set to start spring training next week. And why not? The rebuilt Birds brought in Mark Reynolds, Derrek Lee, Kevin Gregg and Vladimir Guerrero. Fans can already taste the oh-so sweet flavor of .500 baseball.

  7. ESPN's Olney: Orioles are the AL East's most intriguing team

Looking ahead to the 2011 season, ESPN's Buster Olney thinks your Baltimore Orioles are the most intriguing team in the AL East, which is significant considering the Red Sox overhaul, the Yankees' Cliff-Lee-less rotation and the changes in Tampa Bay.

  9. Rays make Orioles' Britton pay for one bad inning

The Orioles' 6-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on an ugly, rainy, sloppy night Friday at Camden Yards provided a crystal-clear example of what separates successful veteran pitchers from inexperienced ones that are seemingly headed toward that path.

  13. Orioles place Derrek Lee, Brian Roberts on the DL

As it turns out, the Orioles not only blew a six-run lead on Monday against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, they lost the right side of their infield for what could be an extended period.

  17. Q&A with Rob Neyer: Showalter will get Orioles to 82 wins

Nationally-known baseball blogger and numbers geek Rob Neyer joined SB Nation as its national baseball editor on Feb. 1 after 15 years at ESPN. He took time out of his busy schedule at his new gig to chat with me Wednesday about the 2011 Orioles, and I thank him for that.

  19. Forget the new guys; 2011 is all about the young guns

An active offseason has both Birdland and the baseball world chirping about the possibility of a winning season for the Orioles. President of baseball operations Andy MacPhail brought in a bunch of name players this winter who bring skills, credibility and, hopefully, production to the Orioles.

  21. Let's all give our predictions for the Orioles' batting order

We will see a totally different lineup in 2011 after the Orioles upgraded at four positions this offseason. Gone are the instant outs of Julio Lugo and Cesar Izturis (well, at least Izturis will only be an instant out once or twice a week), replaced with intriguing hitters such as Vladimir Guerrero, Mark Reynolds and Derrek Lee.
