The Hartford Courant

It's a tale of last rides and inspired beginnings, of loss and the will to fight on, of hopes rising, falling and rising again. Like many a dramatic yarn, it has spun back to the place where it started. And now, it's time for the Ravens to tell us how...

To a man, the Ravens said that they didn't care who their opponent would be Sunday in the AFC championship game. Perhaps, they were too exhausted and emotionally drained from having played a four-hour, 16-minute game to give it much thought. Perhaps,...

  19. 3 questions with Ravens safety James Ihedigbo

Since being signed Sept. 3, James Ihedigbo has been a versatile player for the Ravens. The 6-foot-1, 214-pound Ihedigbo started three games at strong safety for Bernard Pollard when he was dealing with a rib injury and finished the regular season with 19 tackles and one sack. The six-year veteran has also contributed on special teams, finishing with six tackles in the regular season. Ihedigbo spent the first four years of his career with the New York Jets before going to Super Bowl XLVI last season as a member of the New England Patriots, the Ravens' opponent in Sunday's AFC championship game. Ihedigbo, a 29-year-old native of Amherst, Mass., who played at the University of Massachusetts, discussed returning to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., as a member of the opposing team.

Having grown up in Annapolis, Bill Belichick remembers watching quarterback Johnny Unitas, one of the NFL's pioneers of the pass, drive the Baltimore Colts up and down the field with their version of the two-minute drill. At the time, no one did it quite like the man with the golden arm.

  23. Ravens also must deal with Broncos' secret weapon — high altitude

Jimmy Smith knew it was real the first time he walked up the big hill to football practice, his 18-year-old lungs unable to find enough air. In the years that followed, the images of husky linemen, gasping on the sidelines, only confirmed the potency of Colorado's thin, Rocky Mountain air.
