1. Lardarius Webb a more painful loss than Ray Lewis

Given all the glorious memories, the individual accolades, the passion he has exuded, and his significance to his team, his city and the game he has sacrificed his body and long-term health for since joining the Ravens in 1996, it’s understandable why so much of the focus over the past 48 hours has been the loss of Ray Lewis.

  9. Joe Flacco and his wide receivers not clicking

The addition of wide receivers Lee Evans and Torrey Smith presented quarterback Joe Flacco with two more weapons, and was supposed to make the Ravens more dynamic on offense. But after two weeks and one discouraging loss, the Ravens are already facing familiar questions about their downfield passing attack.

  13. Scouting report: Ravens at Titans

RAVENS RUN OFFENSE VS. TITANS RUN DEFENSE: The Titans worked out six defensive linemen Tuesday as injuries and ineffectiveness have taken a toll on a unit they hoped would be improved after several offseason additions. In their season-opening 16-14 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Titans allowed 163 rushing yards. The Jaguars' game-opening 11-play touchdown drive featured nine runs totaling 49 yards. Defensive ends Derrick Morgan and Jason Jones, who both missed the opener with knee injuries, are back, so that could help stabilize a run defense that finished 20th in the NFL last season. But after rushing for 170 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Ravens feel that they can run the ball against anybody. An offensive line that didn't play together the entire preseason exceeded the most optimistic expectations last week, and the additions of left tackle Bryant McKinnie and fullback Vonta Leach paid immediate dividends in front ofRay Rice.

  15. Game 2: Ravens fall flat in 26-13 loss to Titans

Joe Flacco rolled to his right and found no open receiver, so he turned around and ran back to the left. With no better options visible there, Flacco pivoted and finally threw the ball away just before being leveled by Tennessee Titans defensive end Derrick Morgan.

  21. Matt Vensel's 2012 NFL mock draft -- version 3.0

The 2012 NFL draft is three weeks away, and though most teams have solidified their draft boards barring a few tweaks after prospects visit, the “silly season” of draft rumors is really starting to heat up. Need an example? How about the...

  23. Matt Vensel's 2012 NFL mock draft -- version 5.0

Finally, after months of teams poking and prodding NFL draft prospects, scouts picking apart players they had previously pumped up, and media folks like me doing hours of homework trying to make sense of it all, the 2012 NFL draft is less than 48 hours away. I would be lying if I told you that part of me wasn’t ready for all of this just to be over and done with, but still, draft weekend is easily my favorite weekend on the NFL calendar.
