1. Scouting report for Ravens at Bengals

RAVENS PASSING GAME: Quarterback Joe Flacco ended a troubling late-season slump by tearing up the New York Giants last week, throwing for 309 yards and two touchdowns to go along with a rushing score. Perhaps the best development for the Ravens was that Flacco didn't turn the ball over and wasn't sacked. Flacco has won four straight games against the Bengals, throwing five touchdowns during that span. The Ravens are 11 points away from setting a franchise record for most points in a season.

In this game-day staple, blogger Matt Vensel makes four sometimes-courageous predictions for the game. All he asks is that you don’t hold it against him whenever those predictions end up being embarrassingly wrong.

5. Jeff Zrebiec's Ravens-Giants scouting report

RAVENS PASSING GAME: Struggling Ravens' quarterback Joe Flacco maintains he hasn't lost his confidence even as his late-season slump widens. He has completed more than 60 percent of his passes just once in four games, he hass thrown for under 200 yards in five of his last eight contests and he has committed six turnovers over the last three games. He has also been sacked 13 times over the past four weeks. Wide receiver Anquan Boldin was held without a catch last week for the first time in 107 games.

7. Ravens news, notes and opinions

We’ll have plenty of time to talk about this in the weeks ahead, but it dawned on me Sunday just how many difficult decisions owner Steve Bisciotti, general manager Ozzie Newsome and the rest of the Ravens’ front office will have to make this offseason. Some answers might become self evident over the next several weeks, but right now, the picture is pretty murky. What do they do with Joe Flacco, whose recent troubling play has reignited the debate on whether the Ravens should make a long-term commitment to him as their franchise quarterback? Do they re-sign safety Ed Reed, assuming that he wants to return? Is it a given that they bring back linebacker Ray Lewis and wide receiver Anquan Boldin, who will both carry salary cap hits of more than $7 million next season? What about other free agents like linebackers Dannell Ellerbe and Paul Kruger and cornerback Cary Williams? If the Ravens’ fade continues, it might be a little easier for Bisciotti and company to do a little housecleaning in some areas and start anew. But either way, I’d imagine that there will be plenty of angst over some of the calls that they have to make after the end of the season.

11. Huge -- but not tall -- task in Victor Cruz awaits Corey Graham

At 6 feet and 204 pounds, Victor Cruz is the second-shortest wide receiver on the New York Giants and the third-lightest. But Cruz’s impact on the Giants offense figures to loom large for the Ravens and cornerback Corey Graham.

13. It's time for Cutler to become Manning's equal

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — If the third exhibition is a porthole to the regular season, Jay Cutler is going to be a disappointment.
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — If the third exhibition is a porthole to the regular season, Jay Cutler is going to be a disappointment. In the Bears' 20-17 victory over the Giants on Friday night, his performance paled next that of Eli Manning, who had...

At this stage in their careers, Jay Cutler and Tony Romo often are portrayed as the same quarterback in a different uniform.
