1. Small school experience helps Ravens rookie Asa Jackson realize big opportunity

Asa Jackson had come a long way — much further than his cross-country flight — when he first made the short, but winding drive down 1 Winning Drive in Owings Mills in May.

  3. Will the Ravens change up their struggling offensive line?

It will be interesting to see this week if the Ravens make any changes along the offensive line, a group that for the most part has struggled the past couple of weeks and will be under fire again come Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The position to watch, mainly because it’s been unsettled all season, would be left guard. The Ravens have now given three different players a trial run with Ramon Harewood getting five starts, Bobbie Williams getting four and Jah Reid starting the past two games. While coaches have praised Reid, I’m not sure that he’s stood out in a positive way any more than Harewood and Williams did. Like the other two, there has been some good and some bad. Reid was a third-round pick last year so the Ravens probably have the most invested in him, but head coach John Harbaugh has been clear all season that he’s going to play his five best guys. It will be interesting to see if the coaches deem Reid one of those five for a third straight week. The Ravens could insert Harewood or Williams back in or they could plug in Bryant McKinnie at left tackle, move Michael Oher to right tackle and then shift Kelechi Osemele to left guard. That would be a pretty drastic transformation for a 9-2 team, especially when there have been no indications that McKinnie is forcing their hands with his play in practice.

  9. Ravens camp highlights: Practice gets a little heated

CAMP BATTLE?: The first official fight of training camp took place Wednesday -- the last camp practice that will be held at the Under Armour Performance Center this summer -- and it was a good one. Defensive end Arthur Jones and center Gino Gradkowski wrestled each other to the ground during one play. Jones wound up on top and both started swinging. Then offensive tackle Jah Reid was swarmed by a group of defenders, including safety Bernard Pollard, and dozens of players jumped in to either get a few shots in or attempt to play peacemaker. Once the players separated themselves, it was back to business and the practice ended without another incident.

  13. Ravens defense may lean on Haloti Ngata more this season

The word was out. There was no way you were blocking him with one guy. He was already one of the most disruptive defensive players in the NFL, and now he was emerging as a front-runner for the AFC Defensive Player of the Year .

  19. In NFL draft, Ravens typically get 'the itch' to trade

At some point in next week's NFL draft, the Ravens will get the itch. It's usually a good itch, and few teams, if any, have been as successful at scratching it as they have been the past two decades.

The Pro Bowl guard is gone. The bookend tackles aren't great. So how does a center become the player most linked to the Ravens' first-round pick? For Peter Konz, at least, it's by offering a quick fix and a long-term answer. With left guard Ben Grubbs...
