3. Scouting report for Ravens vs. Broncos

RAVENS PASSING GAME: It will be interesting to see new offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell's influence on the play-calling and game plan. The expectation is that the Ravens will loosen the reins on quarterback Joe Flacco, who feels he's at his best in the no-huddle offense. Flacco threw three first-half touchdowns in last Sunday's loss to the Washington Redskins, but he turned the ball over twice. Wide receiver Torrey Smith has three catches or fewer in four of his past five games.

5. New offensive coordinator didn't change the results for the Ravens

Throws that were wild and off-target. Runs stopped not very far from the line of scrimmage. Blocking that appeared non-existent.

7. Still a rookie, QB Andrew Luck a big part of Colts' success

The Indianapolis Colts' reversal from a 2-14 record in 2011 to an 11-5 mark this season could largely be traced to Andrew Luck, who established several NFL rookie records this season. But to his teammates, Luck is still a 23-year-old first-year player who isn't too old to understand his role on a team filled with veterans.

9. Experts weigh in on battle of emotions in Ravens-Colts matchup

For obvious reasons, the Ravens will be totally psyched to join Ray Lewis on his "last ride" when they take the field at M&T Bank Stadium in the wild-card round of the NFL playoffs on Sunday. The Indianapolis Colts also will show up with hearts afire for head coach Chuck Pagano, whose battle against leukemia has been the inspirational story of the season.

11. Reeling Ravens face pivotal test against Denver Broncos and a revived Peyton Manning

If you looked at the Ravens' schedule a few weeks ago, it seemed like little more than an intriguing late-season test against a fellow divisional leader, a chance to glimpse the revived Peyton Manning in his unfamiliar orange uniform.

Let's start with this: Don't expect the Ravens to put up 60 points Sunday.
Let's start with this: Don't expect the Ravens to put up 60 points Sunday. Don't expect Joe Flacco to take endless shots downfield to Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones. Don't expect Anquan Boldin to suddenly run wild in the middle of the field off a lot...

15. Ray Lewis farewell tour moves to Denver

As Ray Lewis danced onto his home field Sunday to face the Indianapolis Colts in an opening-round playoff game, the great Ravens linebacker hoped he was saying goodbye to Baltimore but not to the NFL. Not quite yet. After a sloppy start, his teammates...

21. Views on adjusting to Jim Caldwell mixed

Jim Caldwell’s debut as the Ravens offensive coordinator did not go swimmingly as the offense went three-and-out in its first five possessions and didn’t record a first down until midway through the second quarter en route to the Ravens’ 34-17 loss to the Denver Broncos Sunday.
