1. Ravens: Looking at five questions during OTAs

From contract negotiations with quarterback Joe Flacco and running back Ray Rice to a potentially season-ending Achilles injury to star linebacker Terrell Suggs to coach John Harbaugh’s comments on the New England Patriots to mercurial safety Ed Reed’s controversial radio interviews, the Ravens have made plenty of off-the-field news this offseason.

  5. Handing out superlatives for this Ravens draft class

Now that I have had a couple of days to defragment my brain after a hectic NFL draft weekend, I figured I would hand out superlative style-evaluations of the Ravens’ eight-player draft class. These are just the opinions of one man (though it’s a man who spent much of the past two months researching draft prospects). Feel free to leave your assessments or reactions to mine in the comments section below.

  9. Used to heavy free agent defections, Bisciotti focuses on gains, not losses

While there was plenty of angst among Ravens' fans earlier this month when several of their key players, including left guard Ben Grubbs and linebacker Jarret Johnson, left in free agency, team owner Steve Bisciotti greeted the news with acceptance. Don'...

  13. Jacobs is on Ravens' list, but he's not alone

John Harbaugh may have raised some eyebrows – or at least spurred some speculation – when he said at the owners meetings yesterday that former New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs is “definitely” on the team’s list.

  17. Ravens' Harbaugh: 'We have to upgrade the offensive line'

Three weeks into free agency, the Ravens have retained starting linebacker Jameel McClain, added to their defensive back depth and upgraded their special teams. But one of their glaring offseason needs remains virtually untouched.

  21. Ravens news, notes and opinions

As we head into Week Four of free agency, it’s probably a good time to point out that the Ravens are currently just $1.75 million under the salary cap, which is probably right around the amount of money that they’re going to need to pay their draft picks. There are certainly ways to gain financial flexibility. Signing quarterback Joe Flacco or running back Ray Rice or even cornerback Lardarius Webb to long-term contract extensions would help immensely. Restructuring a couple of contracts, like perhaps Ed Reed’s deal, would also provide relief, though Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti has said on several occasions that he prefers not to resort to those measures. There is also the option of releasing some players, but as I’ve said on numerous occasions, I just don’t see any obvious candidates. Either way, the Ravens will figure out a way. They’ll have to. They still have too many needs right now – pass rusher, veteran running back, wide receiver, two or three offensive linemen, kick returner, defensive line, linebacker and safety depth – to expect to fill all their holes in the draft.

  23. Improved offense hinges on consistent offensive line play for Ravens

The Ravens appear to have found the right formula for winning on offense, but it has as much to do with the improved play of the offensive line as it does a change in philosophy. The key word in the NFL is consistency and once the Ravens found it on...
