1. Stadium deficiencies sink South Florida's Super Bowl hopes

The message was clear and poignant about the future of Super Bowls in South Florida: The big game isn't coming back until significant improvements are made to Sun Life Stadium. NFL owners didn't merely snub South Florida twice in a matter of minutes...

Golf's rules-makers have banned anchored putting strokes. The technique has been used by players to win four of the past six majors. It also has drawn support and opposition throughout the golf world. When using this type of stroke, the putter rests...

5. Vegas says the Matchup at the Meadowlands will be 49ers vs. Broncos

Groller's Corner
All of the hype surrounding new Eagles coach Chip Kelly has given the oddsmakers in Vegas something to consider. The Eagles are a fairly reasonable 40-to-1 longshot to make it up the New Jersey Turnpike to play in the Super Bowl next February. That may...

9. Steelers still taking Ravens' Super Bowl win 'personally' at OTAs

The Pittsburgh Steelers aren't used to this. They've gathered in the spring more times to celebrate Super Bowl victories in the White House than they have talking about a chip on their shoulders for a losing season. At 8-8, they technically didn't have a...

The 49ers may have lost Super Bowl XLVII in January, but San Francisco has already won Super Bowl L. At least it has won the right to host the game. The Bay Area was awarded the 50th Super Bowl after an NFL owners vote Tuesday. The game will take...

13. Shame on Florida lawmaker for throwing away Miami Dolphins Super Bowl bid

South Florida was snubbed by the Super Bowl. Shocker.
South Florida was snubbed by the Super Bowl. Shocker. Surely, I jest. I mean the Miami Dolphins leadership spelled it out for us in their rejected quest for public funding of a much-needed Sun Life Stadium rehab. Owner Steve Ross, a billionaire...

19. Mayo: Will NFL go with history or hypocrisy for Super Bowl 50?

If NFL owners have a sense of history and tradition, they'll award Super Bowl 50 to South Florida later today.
Sun Sentinel Columnist
If NFL owners have a sense of history and tradition, they'll award Super Bowl 50 to South Florida later today. But if they want to deliver the latest proof that the sports world is ruled by hypocrisy and blinded by bling and the almighty dollar, they'll...

21. As OTAs begin, several Ravens still working their way back to health

Starting today and continuing over the next three weeks, Ravens’ rookies and veterans will come together for organized team activities. The three day OTAs, which will be held at the Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills from May 21-23, May 29-31 and June 4-6, will serve as a prelude to the mandatory veteran minicamp, held on June 11-13. The OTAs are voluntary and several Ravens veterans traditionally have skipped them or at least gone to only one or two of the sessions. There will also be a group of players who aren’t ready to participate in the scaled-down workouts after sustaining injuries last year or had an offseason surgery. Several players mentioned below fit into that category.
