The Friends of the Salina Public Library are taking scholarship applications from high school seniors who have volunteered at the library. Each year, several students are awarded $500-$1500 scholarships.
Applications must be submitted with a current high school transcript, two written recommendations and an essay (minimum 250 words) stating what a Friend scholarship would mean to you. Application forms can be downloaded from the library's website, www.salinapubliclibrary.com.
Rules/Restrictions: Applicants must have volunteered at the library a minumum of 30 hours during their high school years. They must be high school seniors with atleast a 2.5 GPA who plan to attend an accredited school or college. Relatives of current Friends board members are ineligible. Recipients must attend their high school's Honors Night and give permission to the Friends to publicize the award, including a photo of the winner.
