     Joann "Jody" Glover was born Oct. 7, 1942, in Louisville, Ky., to Bob and Olivia House. Her father was commissioned in the U.S. Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II. Jody was raised by her grandparents, Carl and Bertha Bareither, in Eureka, during the period of her formative years and it remained some of her fondest memories of childhood. Granny and Grandpa Bareither helped form her vision of the future, as well as her strong practice of caring for others.

    <span style="font-size: medium;">Hulda Michel, 86 of Spearfish died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish, burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Hulda was born June 10, 1926 in Romania to Johannes and Christina (Bauer) Zehmer. During World War II she was relocated with her family to a small farm in West Germany, there she met Herbert Michel, following a two year courtship to couple were married on January 22, 1948. The couple moved to the United States in November of 1951, with the help of the Marshall Plan which helped relocate refugees from the war. Upon arrival in America the couple came to Nisland, SD, and shortly thereafter to Belle Fourche and later moved to Spearfish. While in Spearfish the couple purchased the Star Motel on 7th and Elgin Street and a Mobile Service Station on Jackson and Main Street. Hulda operated the motel until her retirement. Grateful to have shared in her life is her husband, Herbert Michel and her two children; Else Kitzmiller and Allen Michel all of Spearfish, grandson, Mike Kitzmiller and two great-granddaughters, Kassidy and Jordan Kitzmiller.
