  3. Guy W. Livengood, 90, of Springs

    Guy W. Livengood, 90, of Springs, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md. Born July 27, 1922, in Somerset County, he is the son of the late Fay O. and Ressie (Rembold) Livengood. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Harriet Louise (Otto) Livengood and his second wife, Florence Irene (Eash) Thomas Bough Livengood. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Marie Llewellyn, Pearl Lantz, Clara Lichty and Clayton Livengood. Guy worked most of his life at Otto Brick Works in Springs as a mechanic and machinist until he retired in 1989. In retirement, Guy was kept busy repairing and machining things in his personal shop next to his home. He was a lifetime member at the Springs Mennonite Church, where he served as a sound tech and trustee. Guy loved to gather with family and friends to barbecue, picnic and have fun. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Guy was an avid gardener and enjoyed freezing and canning the produce he raised. He is survived by three children, Donna (Patrick) Booton, Dauphin; Noel (Roxanne) Livengood, Springs; Ann (Dennis) Critchfield, Boynton; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one sister, Dorothy Lenhart, Boynton. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. on Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Springs Mennonite Church with the Rev. Eric Haglund officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in Springs Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Diabetes Foundation. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.newmanfuneralhomes.com.
