  7. Edward N. Joseph, 84, formerly of Somerset

    <span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt; mso-ansi-language: EN;" lang="EN">Edward N. Joseph, known to many friends and family as &ldquo;Cuz,&rdquo; age 84, fell asleep in the Lord at Williamsport Retirement Village, Williamsport, Md., on <span data-term="goog_876640129"><span class="aqj">June 12, 2013</span></span>. Most recently a resident of Hagerstown, Md., Eddie was formerly a resident of both Somerset and Johnstown. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Norman, Theodore and William and sisters Frances and Anne (Michnya). Survivors include his wife,Brenda, his children: Lisa Joseph Burek (Scott), Glenshaw, Melissa Joseph Kauffman (Gene), Hagerstown, Md., Matthew Albert Joseph (Ashley), Charlotte, N.C., and seven grandchildren: Ryan &amp; Elena Burek of Glenshaw, Nicholas and Lauren Kauffman of Hagerstown, and William, Maddox and Alexandra Joseph of Charlotte, N.C. He is also survived by sisters Dawn Hagins, Dolores Hawkins, and Sandra Joseph, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Born Dec. 18, 1928, in Johnstown<span style="color: #1f497d;">. Son of </span>Charles and Geraldine (Jaber) Joseph<span style="color: #1f497d;">. H</span>e graduated from Franklin High School and Lock Haven University. Eddie served in the Army during the Korean <span style="color: #1f497d;">Conflict</span>. On Aug. 17, 1963 he married the former Brenda <span style="color: #1f497d;">(</span>Salem<span style="color: #1f497d;">)</span>. Eddie taught Physical Education for the Somerset Area Schools for 40 years, where he was affectionately known by both students and staff as &ldquo;Mr. Joe.&rdquo; He retired from teaching in 1993. <a name="13f391043d5ca2fa__GoBack"></a>He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, Johnstown, where he sang in the choir. In recent years, he attended St. Mary Orthodox Church, Chambersburg. Eddie served as the Athletic Director of the Antiochian Village Camp (Ligonier) for many years. Eddie was also a member of the Order of St. Ignatius, The American Legion, The VFW, Somerset Masonic Lodge, Tall Cedars and Altoona Shrine. During his rich life, Eddie enjoyed travelling, cooking, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Shadid officiating.
