1. Hall of Fame nominees are an impressive group

I waited until after the primary election so I wouldn't be blamed for making anyone lose, but now it's time to unveil this year's nominees to my Hall of Fame of the area's most colorful characters.

  7. Left-turners should not encroach into oncoming lane

Q: Going from the Third Street ramp of Bethlehem's Hill-to-Hill Bridge and turning north onto Route 378 is dangerous, especially at rush hours. People coming in the other direction (south on 378 turning left onto the Third Street ramp) cut it so short that they enter the inner lane going north, and sometimes you actually have to wait or you'd hit them. It would be a great idea if a broken white line were painted around that curve so that cars turning left onto the ramp would stay in their lane.

  9. Miracles for Ella gathering created smiles, tears

It was appropriate that they stamped our hands with smiley faces as we arrived at the Spaghetti for Ella fundraising event in Cementon Sunday evening. What I saw there put a big smile on my face, and I know I wasn't alone.

  17. Handicap parking thief lost his disability in store

I wrote not long ago about people stealing the reserved handicap parking space in front of a Coplay woman's home, as well as broader issues involving people's ignorant assumptions and behavior. This generated reaction that included one truly bizarre...

  19. Reserved handicap spaces should be respected

There's a special place in my heart for the big Christmas light decorators I write about every December. I've met some of them through the annual RCN TV shows I do with Wally Ely; others just through exchanging emails or meeting them on my tours. I can...
