7. PennDOT throws Race, Lehigh streets project into reverse

Q: Traffic at the intersection of Race and Lehigh streets in Catasauqua has been horrible for years. One night last year, when the Pine Street Bridge was closed for repairs, the stop sign had been knocked over and people were driving on the sidewalks to go around waiting vehicles. Even after the bridge reopened, it's been a nightmare. Having fire police at the intersection during rush hours to direct traffic would be fantastic, or temporary stop signs in all three directions could help. Prohibiting left turns from Lehigh onto Race would be beneficial. Something needs to be done.

  23. Lead-content warning in Whitehall confuses motorists

Q: I am wondering if you have looked into the signs that have been posted about not breathing or disturbing the dust around the construction area of the Hokendauqua-North Catasauqua Bridge in Whitehall Township. What exactly is going to come off that bridge that is so toxic? Also, are they shutting down the Ironton Rail Trail at the bridge? I use the trail frequently for jogging or biking, but I think I'll be avoiding it now, as I wouldn't want to be inhaling anything toxic while I'm exercising!
