21. Will new MacArthur interchange stop Route 22 back-ups?

Q: I think the new MacArthur Road bridge and interchange at Route 22 will be obsolete before it is even built. A new ramp is replacing the old ramp for northbound MacArthur traffic coming from 22 east. I have seen traffic backed up on the old ramp all the way back onto Route 22, and the new ramp looks like it will not hold as many cars as the old ramp did. Northbound MacArthur traffic will fill the ramp, block traffic trying to go to south, and soon it will again be backed up onto 22 — hopefully only during the holiday shopping season. Judging by the plans, it also looks like the new bridge will not be wide enough to support 6 lanes on 22, which are needed now, and will be needed desperately in the near future.
