  13. Avoiding Contractor Scams in Central PA

This is the time of year when many people have home improvement projects done.  It's also the time of year when scam artists pose as contractors and rip-off unsuspecting people.  However, there are some simple ways to protect yourself no matter the size of the project you're having done.  Pat Walters of York County is having her master bathroom remodeled.  “We looked at lots of contractors to do this.  Because I'm picky I wanted local and dependable and good quality for the dollar.”  Walters decided on Coggeshall and Lentz.  A contractor for 30 years, Phil Coggeshall wants clients to ask him the right questions.  “I  want to make sure they ask about the contract and understand the payment schedule, and that they feel comfortable with our people coming in to work on their house because trust is a big thing in this world” says Coggeshall.
