Jason Lamb

FOX 4 Sports

In 2002, Jason Lamb joined FOX 4 as a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor. Jason is a native of Great Bend, Kansas and a 1995 graduate of the University of Kansas.  So he feels right at home working and living in Kansas City.

Jason comes to Kansas City from Topeka, where he started out as a sports reporter and later became a weekend sports anchor at WIBW-TV. Most recently, he was the sports director at KTKA-TV in Topeka. He made the move to Kansas City for two reasons: its proximity to family and friends and its diverse sports scene. He's particularly excited to be smack in the middle of the "border war" between KU and Mizzou.

Among his career highlights, Jason covered George Brett's final home game, followed the Jayhawks to the 2002 and 2003 Final Fours, attended the 2001 US Open in Tulsa and traveled to many of Kansas State's football bowl games. He would like to say he's covered more than one KU bowl game. But Jason says he's lucky to have attended the '95 KU Aloha Bowl in Hawaii since the Jayhawks have played in only five bowl games during his entire lifetime!  Jason says he's privileged to be working in television. He believes broadcasters are charged with a huge responsibility—determining what is news and deciding what to put on TV.

Jason lives in Shawnee with his wife Amy and their two cats. The couple welcomed the birth of their new son Jayce in May 2003. When he's not wearing make-up and working in front of the camera, Jason enjoys watching movies, working on his lawn, playing golf and softball, and watching KU basketball and Royals baseball.
