It was a "must win" for the Saints Monday night, and win they did: 28-13 over the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Saints have now won 3 of their last 4 games after an 0-and-4 start.
The defense made plenty of big plays against the Eagles: in the first quarter, Patrick Robinson intercepted a Michael Vick pass and returned it 99 yards for a touchdown.
Drew Brees threw two touchdown passes, one to Marques Colston, the other to Jimmy Graham.
Interim head coach Joe Vitt had this to say on his now three and five Saints....
"We were better this week," said interim head coach Joe Vitt. "Our guys are professionals. When you tell them what the key to victory is, what the key things we want to work on, they work hard on it. It carried over to the game. We had good tempo, we were in and out, up and down, on and off. Personnel groupings were on and off the field, the tempo in and out of the huddle, the motions, the shifts. We got better."
Next, the Saints will host the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday at noon.
