CHICAGO—
The Chicago Public Library has a new treasure tonight, thanks to it's "Once in a Blue Moon" amnesty program. Since August 20th, Chicagoans have been able to return overdue items free of charge. And today, a woman returned a book - 78 years overdue.
The amnesty program runs through Saturday, September 7th. Do it now. This is the first fine amnesty program in Chicago in 20 years, and yes, once in a blue moon too.
