Up to their old tricks following a leave of absence for a couple of years, the perennial team favorite of Scott and Steve Humphrey edged Todd and Norman Howard in the playoff finals to capture the Winchester Country Club Men’s Member-Guest Tournament over the weekend.
The Humphreys advanced by winning the first flight in regulation play and then defeated fourth flight survivors Howard Woods and Tom Hines in the semifinal playoff.
After advancing out of the second flight, the Howards went into overtime in the semifinals to edge third flight representatives Ronnie Snowden Jr. and Gene Snowden III.
Other winners included:
First flight — Mason Guy and Jeff Whitford (second); Justin Charles and Jason Cole (third).
Second flight — Paxton Mahan and Trent Steiner (second); Jerry Riddell and Jim Earnest (third).
Third flight — Ryan Midden and Nathan Lowe (second); Jimmy Powell and Arturo Mora (third).
Fourth flight — Travis Mullins and Eric Hudson (second); Chad and Billy Abner (third).
A total of 47 teams participated in the two-day, 45-hole event.
