Charles Kezele, 87, of Winchester, passed into eternal life on Wednesday, Nov. 2, of natural causes, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
On July 18, 1924, in Newton Falls, Ohio, Frank J. and Rose (Gerchar) Kezele were blessed with the birth of their son, Charles.

Charles married the love of his life, Elizabeth D. Behun, on Aug. 2, 1945, and they enjoyed 57 years of blessed marriage together before she passed away on Jan. 4, 2003.
Charles worked as a maintenance supervisor for Rockwell International for 34 years before retiring in 1980. He then became co-owner with his son, Larry Kezele, of The Ruth Hunt Candy Company in Mount Sterling, where he worked until his death.
He enjoyed dancing, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards, University of Kentucky basketball and gathering with family and friends.
Memories of Charles will be carried on by his loving family; his son Larry, of Lexington; daughters Carol (Jeffrey) Rigby of Cortland, Ohio, Joyce (Bill) Chew of Mason, Ohio, and Deborah (Michael) Haaker of Georgetown; and son Donald (Vickie) Kezele of Hebron; his seven grandchildren Brian, Kristen and Kevin Rigby, and Shannon, Stacy and Skylar Chew and Camron Kezele; two great-grandchildren Madison and Charlie Rigby; and his dear friend Juanita.
Seven brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held in Mount Sterling on Friday, Nov. 4 at the Gateway Regional Arts Center, 101 East Main St., in the performance hall, gathering at 6 p.m. with the service officially beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Church in Newton Falls, Ohio. Charles will be laid to rest next to his wife, Betty, in St. Joseph Cemetery.
