Yvonne Man joined FOX 59 as a general assignment reporter in August 2012. She’s excited to be working in Indianapolis after spending three years as an Anchor/Reporter at KVRR and KVLY/KXJB in Fargo, ND. Yvonne has also reported in Hong Kong, where she grew up for most of her life.
A city girl at heart, Yvonne learned to love living in a small-town. She started in Fargo as an intern and worked her way up to become one of the main anchors at her station. One of Yvonne’s most memorable stories was with a man who lost his fiancé in a deadly car crash. Her exclusive interview was later featured in a statewide public service announcement campaign on seatbelt safety. In June 2011, Yvonne was chosen to cover the flooding crisis in western North Dakota. During nearly 24-hour broadcasts, her live reports were aired at multiple stations across the Dakotas.
Born a Canuck, Yvonne grew up in Toronto. At the age of 9, her family moved overseas to Singapore, then to Hong Kong where her parents are from. She’s fluent in two dialects of Chinese: her native Cantonese and Mandarin (And if you ever catch her on a long-distance phone call with her parents, she’s a master at Chin-glish!).
Yvonne graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University with a major in Journalism and minor in Business. She was also a reporter and anchor for the Emmy-award winning Northwestern News Network.
Yvonne enjoys traveling, playing piano, and exploring different foods and restaurants. She’s also known to be a little too competitive, even when it comes to a game of Scrabble!
Yvonne is ecstatic to be in the Circle City and doing what she’s most passionate about – telling stories. If you have any story ideas, shoot her an email, tweet, or message on Facebook.
