WMU sewer line work

A construction crew with Cleary Construction Company of Tompkinsville works to dam off a section of Strodes Creek to divert the water for workers to install a 30-inch sewer pipe line for Winchester Municipal Utilities, top photo. A section of Old Boonesboro Road just past Stoney Brook is closed while workers install the line under the roadway, bottom photo. The workers were digging around a 12-inch water main bringing water to Winchester. The 14,000 foot sewer line project runs from the Boonesboro Animal Clinic to the new sewer plant under construction on Boonesboro Road at the top of the hill overlooking the Kentucky River. The $28 million plant is being constructed on a 38-acre site by Smith Contractors of Lawrenceburg. Completion date for the plant is early 2013.
